Kakarvitta Multiple Campus (KMC), established in 2055 B.S. , has successfully concluded a comprehensive Capacity Development Training Program focused on Digital Literacy. Supported by the University Grants Commission (UGC) , the initiative marks a significant step toward institutional growth and technological integration in education.

 

Program Overview

  • Event Title: Digital Literacy Training for Faculties & Staffs.
  • Duration: Three days, from 12th to 14th Chaitra 2081 B.S..
  • Venue: NMC Hall, Kakarvitta.
  • Lead Coordinator: Sujan Pradhan, IT Department Head.
  • Participants: A total of 28 faculty members, staff, and facilitators attended the sessions.

Resource Persons (Facilitators)

The program featured expert-led sessions from both internal and external specialists:

  • Abiskar Basnet (Head of Digital Banking, Nepal Multipurpose Co-operative Society Ltd): Facilitated sessions on Internet & Email Security, Cybersecurity, Digital Pedagogy, and AI in Education.

  • Roshan Budhathoki (CEO, Crystal Solution): Led training on MS Office Productivity Tools, Cloud Storage, Learning Management Systems (Moodle/Open edX), and Data Management (HEMIS/EMIS).

  • Sujan Pradhan (Head of IT Department, KMC): Provided instruction on Basic Computer Skills, File Management, Online Teaching Tools, and Video Conferencing.

  • Pushpa Poudel (RMC Head, KMC): Collaborated on sessions regarding Research Methodology and Academic Writing.

Key Objectives

The training was designed to modernize the campus’s educational approach by:

  • Improving Digital Skills: Mastering Microsoft Office, cloud storage, and online security.
  • Enhancing Pedagogy: Training teachers on Learning Management Systems (LMS) and interactive online assessments.
  • Cybersecurity Awareness: Educating staff on protecting data from phishing and cyber threats.
  • Introducing AI: Exploring Artificial Intelligence tools for content creation and automation.

Conclusion & Impact

The program successfully met its objectives, significantly enhancing the digital competencies of the KMC team. Participants gained proficiency in integrating technology into teaching practices and improved their research and data analysis capabilities. This training reinforces KMC’s commitment to providing affordable, quality education.
