Library Services & Rules
The Library of Kakarvitta Multiple Campus plays a vital role in supporting academic learning, teaching, and research activities. The campus library is committed to providing students with access to essential learning resources in a disciplined, organized, and academically supportive environment.
1. Objectives of the Campus Library
The campus library aims to:
Support academic programs and course requirements
Encourage independent study and research habits
Provide access to prescribed textbooks and reference materials
Maintain a quiet, disciplined, and resource-friendly learning environment
- The campus regularly updates library resources in line with academic programs, curriculum requirements, and institutional capacity, as guided by the Library Policy (2081).
2. Library Membership & ID Requirement
All enrolled students of Kakarvitta Multiple Campus are eligible for library membership.
Students must complete the required library admission/registration process to use library services.
Possession of a valid Student Identity Card (ID) is compulsory for:
Reading inside the library
Borrowing books from the library
Library services will not be provided without valid identification.
3. Book Borrowing Rules
The following rules apply to all student users:
Students may borrow up to two (2) textbooks at a time.
Borrowed books must be returned within 15 days from the date of issue.
Reference books are strictly for library use only and are not issued for home borrowing unless specifically permitted by the library administration.
Books must be returned in good condition.
4. Book Renewal Policy
Renewal of borrowed books is permitted for a maximum period of 15 additional days.
Each book may be renewed only once, subject to library approval.
Renewal requests must be made before the due date.
5. Late Return & Fine
If a book is not returned or renewed within the prescribed time, a late fine of Rs. 5 per day per book will be charged.
Repeated late returns may result in suspension of library privileges.
Failure to return books may lead to further disciplinary or administrative action.
6. Use of Library Facilities & Discipline
To maintain a proper academic atmosphere:
Silence must be strictly maintained inside the library.
Mobile phone usage that disturbs others is strictly prohibited.
Eating, drinking, or disruptive behaviour inside the library is not allowed.
Library materials are intended strictly for academic purposes.
Students must follow all instructions provided by library staff.
7. Responsibility for Library Property
Students must carefully check the condition of books at the time of issue and return.
Writing, tearing pages, marking, or damaging library books is strictly prohibited.
If a book is returned damaged, lost, or with missing pages, the borrower must:
Pay full compensation equal to the book’s value, and
Pay any applicable penalties as determined by the library administration.
- All library transactions, including book issue, return, renewal, and fines, are recorded and monitored as per institutional procedures.
8. Library Clearance for Examinations & Certificates
Before appearing in the final (Tribhuvan University-conducted) examinations, students must return all borrowed library books and clear outstanding dues.
Library clearance is mandatory before issuing:
Character Certificate
Transfer Certificate
Recommendation Letters
Other official documents
9. Access for Non-Campus Users
Non-campus users or community readers may be allowed to use library reading facilities inside the library premises only, subject to library rules and ID verification.
Borrowing of library books is strictly limited to enrolled students of Kakarvitta Multiple Campus.
10. Library Timings & Access
The library operates during official campus hours.
Entry and exit rules must be followed as prescribed by the campus.
Special access may be granted with prior permission from campus authorities.
11. Policy Authority & Updates
This Library Services & Rules policy is approved by the Campus Administration / Management Committee.

12. Library Management & Administration
The campus library is operated and managed in accordance with the Library Operation and Management Policy (2081).
