Key Addressed Speeches & Remarks

1. Acceptance Speech: Campus Chief Laxmi Prasad Uprety

“I express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone. It is your collective encouragement that has guided me to this prestigious national post, which brings a heavier weight of responsibility. Regarding our banking ecosystem, there are 32,000 cooperatives across Nepal, and only one dedicated bank. Representing NMC, I previously had the privilege to serve once as a central board member and twice as an accounts committee member. This ultimate elevation to the President of the Board of Directors is a result of your continuous goodwill. On World Environment Day, I also urge our students to step forward and make concrete commitments toward nature conservation.”

2. Chief Guest Remarks: Honorable Rabin Koirala (Constituent Assembly Member)

“Mechinagar feels immense pride today as one of our own has climbed to a position of national significance. My hearty congratulations to Laxmi Prasad Uprety. We always foresaw that his firm, grounded steps would lead him to great success, and today we stand close to the President of the National Cooperative Bank. Turning to the environment, factories and industrial plants are steadily degrading our ecosystem. Climate refers to long-term weather patterns, and given how damaged it has become, the time has come for every individual to contribute to conservation from their respective spaces.”

3. Presidential Remarks: CMC Chair Durga Prasad Sapkota

“Laxmi Sir’s unwavering determination was strongly backed by voters across Jhapa, leading him to secure a victory with the highest number of votes. Cooperatives have recently faced reputational damage across the country, and we trust that Laxmi Sir will bridge the vital gap between cooperative values and banking systems to restore that trust. Moving forward, cooperatives must work hand-in-hand with the local municipality.”
